LITERARY LIFE – PEN-ZENTRUM

As an association of writers, PEN promotes literary life in the country.

We represent it in the German literary and cultural committees and we are the contact point for the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.

The PEN invites you to literary events, whether as part of its annual general assembly, at book fairs or in Darmstadt. Regional groups of PEN Germany ensure that the diverse voices of the members are present throughout the country.

500 MINUTES OF LITERATURE

The final segment of the NEUSTART KULTUR project initiated in early 2021 under the presidency of Regula Venske and Heinrich Peuckmann will be digital readings by over 50 authors from Berlin, Dortmund, Dresden, Halle (Saale), Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich, Neustadt an der Weinstraße, the Cologne and Wuppertal area.

In total, the short readings of up to 10 minutes in length recorded in winter 2022 add up to around 500 minutes of literature and mostly present members of the PEN Center Germany with their works in poetry and prose.
